TITLE: Spirit of Discovery WALL NEBULA
ARTIST: Bonnie Fitzgerald & Ali Mirsky
LOCATION: Vinson & Maryland Avenue
DESCRIPTION: The installation consists of two separate works of art that relate to each other. On the front wall of City Hall is a 170 square foot multi-layered mosaic of a spinning nebula: space, the final frontier. In the garden below stands a sculpture of a young girl looking at the nebula through a telescope. The sculpture stands 8 feet tall. Both works are dimensional and their surfaces covered in glass mosaic. Materials: stained glass, glass tiles, recycled bottle glass and fused glass.
